It was a big pleasure for us to be part of the big TDWI family at the big european conference in Munich from 17.-19.06.2013. Together with our big partner MapR we had a big booth at a perfect place in the exhibition hall. Next to many interesting talks around data warehouse solutions there were some big discussions how Hadoop technologies can support or replace traditional warehouse solutions. With our tutorial “Using R for Business Intelligence in Big Data” presented by Dr. Markus Schmidberger we introduced participants to the powerful statistical software R. Covering topics as rmongodb and rmr2 Markus introduced concepts to use Big Data technologies as MongoDB and Hadoop within R. Using the RStudio IDE and a not big (single node) AWS based MapR clusters participants trained their self with real world examples in short exercises.
